"The Knights of Early Los Angeles"
The GDM Museum’s Award-Winning Film Trailer
Sean Foran, Curator and Board President of the Grace Dee May Museum, has been delving into the history of the impact that the first Freemasons to arrive in Los Angeles had on the growth, development, and personality of Southern California. Sean’s extensive research has unearthed a treasure trove of fascinating stories about the Masons who, literally, transformed what was a sleepy pueblo into one of the world’s greatest cities.
The Museum will be sharing these stories and a wealth of historic documents with the public in a variety of media including an upcoming live theatrical performance, a book to accompany an exhibit in our gallery, and in a documentary film.
While the documentary is in pre-production, the Museum has released a 3-minute video trailer and distributed it to a number of film festivals. Currently, our trailer has been exhibited at film festivals in Los Angeles and New York as well as at festivals in Argentina, Belgium, Egypt, France, Germany, Iceland, India, Romania, Russia, Singapore, and the United Kingdom.
We are grateful for the warm reception and rave reviews from judges at these festivals including:
