Celebrate 150 years with the Knights Templar of Los Angeles' Commandery No. 9 at the Grace Dee May Museum on..
Festivities will include the debut of an exciting new theatrical performance which will take you back in time as you learn about the remarkable life of Dr. Henry Sayre Orme.
Born in Georgia, Henry S. Orme was a veteran of the Civil War and was among the pioneeers who came West to California. He served in many prestigious positions in his career including as President of the California Board of Health and as a professor in the medical department of USC, Orme also was selected as Grand Master of Masons in California in 1893. He also served as Grand Commander of the Knights Templar.
During our celebration of the Sesquicentennial of Los Angeles Commandery No. 9, members and guests will experience the premier of "This Is Your Life ... Henry S. Orme" which will both entertain and educate anyone interested in the history of both Los Angeles and Freemasonry. This special event will include a champagne reception and the chance to tour the main gallery of the Grace Dee May Museum.
There will be no charge for admission but space is limited and advance reservations are required. A special commemorative gift will be given to all visitors.
